Job summary

TIP Group in Carrington, Manchester, is seeking an HGV Trailer Mechanic to inspect, service, maintain and repair a range of trailers. You will perform routine maintenance and safety inspections, diagnose faults, and ensure roadworthiness.

The role requires recording work and collaborating with the team to keep vehicles moving. The position offers a full-time schedule with overtime paid at 1.5x, and a competitive London/Wider UK market-aligned salary of £40,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience as a trailer/HGV mechanic or similar heavy vehicle role.
• IRTEC certification desirable (or working towards).
• Heavy Vehicle Level 3 qualification or equivalent time-served experience.
• Safety-first mindset and pride in a job done properly.

Responsibilities

• Routine inspections, servicing and PMI checks on HGV trailers.
• Diagnose and repair faults across braking, suspension, electrical, and bodywork systems.
• Maintain DVSA-compliant standards for maintenance and repairs.
• Record work accurately and keep fleet history up to date.
