Job summary

Ford & Slater Corby is seeking HGV Technicians for the night shift at our Stockton dealership. As a key member of our team, you'll service and maintain a broad range of trucks and vehicles while ensuring adherence to safety and manufacturer's guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, or related sectors.
• Ability to carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs.
• General level of computer literacy is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a variety of Trucks and Vehicles.
• Fault diagnostics and ensuring repairs to manufacturer's procedures.
• Road testing vehicles when required, subject to licence restrictions.

Skills

Experience as a Technician/Mechanic

Level 3 qualification in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance

Technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance

UK driving licence

Ability to diagnose faults

Education

Recognised apprenticeship or training programme

Who are we looking for as an HGV Technician:

Ideally, you will have the following skills but training will be provided:

• Previous experience working as a Technician / Mechanic within the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car or an associated sector.
• Ideally have served a recognised apprenticeship or training programme.
• Qualified to Level 3 (C&G, NVQ or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Excellent technical knowledge ensuring maintenance and repairs are carried out to manufacturer’s procedures.
• Sound knowledge to accurately diagnosis faults.
• Carry safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs.
• Ability to participate in breakdowns.
• Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records.
• General level of computer literacy is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

Available Shifts

• Nightshift: Monday to Thursday / Tuesday to Friday (alternate weeks)

The HGV Technician role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Servicing and maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles. Carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs. Fault Diagnostics. Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner. Road test vehicle when required, subject to licence restrictions.
