Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Cumbria to join a growing commercial vehicle workshop. The role involves servicing, maintenance and repair of a large mixed fleet of trucks and trailers, with DVSA/MOT prep and fault diagnosis.

You will work Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm, with every other Saturday paid at time and a half. An attractive hourly rate up to £20, depending on experience, with weekly pay and holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' mechanical experience in a similar role.
• Level 3 / City & Guilds / NVQ qualification or equivalent experience.
• Previous HGV / commercial vehicle experience.
• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Pride in the quality of your work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs
• MOT preparation and DVSA compliance
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Working across a range of HGVs, trailers and ancillary equipment
• Completing service sheets, job cards and defect reports
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard
• Maintaining good workshop safety and housekeeping standards
