Job summary

Russell Taylor Group in the UK is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to maintain and repair a varied range of heavy commercial vehicles. You will work as part of a supportive team, ensuring all work is completed safely and to high standards.

The role requires Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, strong mechanical/electrical/diagnostic skills, and a full UK driving licence. An HGV licence is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV technician with Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Complete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance per DVSA requirements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and replace components including brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure roadworthiness standards are met.
• Attend vehicle breakdowns when required and complete job cards and paperwork.
• Identify additional defects and report required repairs.
• Maintain high safety standards and quality in all work.
• Keep tools and workshop clean and organised.
