Job summary

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Vehicle Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Ability to identify faults and worn components to DVSA standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence, IRTEC accreditation experience advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out major and minor repairs on HGVs and trucks.
• Service and maintain commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and technical faults.
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identify worn components to DVSA standards.
• Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
• Complete job cards, service records and warranty documentation.
• Use workshop diagnostics and management systems.
• Work with the workshop team to keep vehicles on the road.
• Maintain high health, safety and housekeeping standards.
