Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking a skilled HGV technician to perform MOT inspections, fault finding, and repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes and suspension, ensuring work adheres to Volvo procedures. You will support trainees and contribute to high-quality service for a wide range of trucks.

The role requires Level 3 NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent and prior HGV experience or apprenticeship. You may be involved in road tests and roadside breakdown support as needed.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry
• Willingness to support trainees and apprentices

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks
• Fault finding and carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs
• Report all vehicle defects
• Maintain workshop facilities, equipment and tools
• Support development of trainees and apprentices
