Qualifications

  • HGV Class 1 license desirable but not essential.
  • Tachograph qualifications preferable but not essential.

Job description

HGV Mechanic

Location: March

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm; Saturday - 8:00am – 1:00pm (1 in 2 weekends)

Salary: £18 per hour plus 10 hours of overtime at a higher rate over 40 hours; OTE £50,000

A family-run business established over 30 years, specialising in HGVs, buses, and coaches, with a reputation for high standards. They are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their growing team.

About your new HGV Mechanic role:

  1. Carry out maintenance, repairs, and modifications on the fleet of vehicles and trailers, providing technical support from fault analysis to completion.
  2. Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
  3. Undertake pre-MOT checks and necessary repairs.

Requirements:

  1. In-depth knowledge of HGVs, trailers, buses, and coaches.
  2. HGV Class 1 license (desirable but not essential).
  3. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance.
  4. Tachograph qualifications (preferable but not essential).
