Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd in Grantham is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy general haulage operation. The role is hands-on in a workshop, covering a mixed fleet (mainly DAF; Scania & Mercedes).

You’ll service, inspect and repair vehicles with occasional breakdowns and local call-outs. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional Saturday overtime and a competitive hourly rate of £21.50 to £22.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic or time-served
• Experience working on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Confident with servicing, repairs, inspections and fault finding
• Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety
• Reliable with good references

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Work in a hands-on workshop across a mixed fleet (DAF, Scania, Mercedes)
• Minimal call-outs with most work workshop-based
• Carry out inspections and fault finding and assist with servicing and repairs

We’re recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy general haulage operation in Grantham. This is a hands‑on workshop role working across a mixed fleet, mainly DAF alongside Scania and Mercedes.
You’ll be carrying out general maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs, with occasional breakdowns / local call-outs. Most work is workshop-based with very little call-out required.
