Job summary

Grundon Waste Management Ltd. is seeking a dynamic HGV Technician to join our Colnbrook team. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will perform inspections, servicing and repairs to maximise vehicle uptime and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires City & Guilds Parts 1-3 or NVQ Level 3 in HGV maintenance (or 10+ years of experience), and ideally a Class 2 licence with tachograph and Driver CPC. You’ll work in a supportive environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds Parts 1-3, NVQ Level 3 in HGV maintenance, or equivalent.
• Ideally possess a valid HGV licence (Class 2), tachograph card, and Driver CPC.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and warranty work.
• Prepare and present HGVs for annual MOT testing.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Complete service documentation and follow company procedures and safety processes.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and use PPE properly.
• Support apprentice technicians and contribute to the team.
• Provide roadside assistance when safe and participate in training.
