Job summary

Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to maintain and repair a varied range of heavy commercial vehicles. You will work as part of a skilled, supportive team, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs to high standards.

Role requires Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and knowledge of DVSA guidelines. A full UK driving licence is essential; an HGV licence is advantageous but not required.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Technician with Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of DVSA inspection and maintenance requirements.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Complete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance in line with DVSA requirements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and replace components including brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure they meet all required roadworthiness standards.
• Attend vehicle breakdowns when required.
• Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and compliance documentation.
• Identify additional defects and report any required repairs.
• Ensure work is completed efficiently while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.
• Keep tools, equipment and the workshop clean, organised and properly maintained.
