Job summary
Confidential Employer in Essex is seeking experienced HGV Technicians for day and night shifts at a busy commercial vehicle dealership in West Thurrock. You’ll service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles, using modern diagnostic equipment and ensuring DVSA standards, with overtime potential and two shift patterns to suit preference.
The role requires NVQ3/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and a valid UK driving licence; main dealer experience is advantageous.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Proven experience as HGV Technician/Truck Technician/Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience in a commercial vehicle workshop
- Good understanding of modern HGV systems and maintenance standards
- Full UK driving licence
Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
- Performing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults with diagnostic equipment
- Identifying and repairing defective components
- Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Completing job cards and maintenance documentation
- Maintaining high workmanship standards and workshop safety
