Biffa is inviting applications for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship in East London. You’ll learn on the job alongside experienced technicians, helping to maintain and repair our fleet of waste collection vehicles while gaining valuable skills.

This 3-year Level 3 Apprenticeship covers servicing, diagnostics, MOT prep, and work with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a professional workshop, with emphasis on health and safety and career progression.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic learner with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to solve problems and diagnose faults in vehicles.
• Valid Cat B driving licence required.
• Enrolment in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 3 Apprenticeship for a 3-year programme.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and LGVs.
• Diagnose and fix vehicle faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Work with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Follow health and safety practices in a professional workshop.
