Job summary

Wolviston Management Services Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Middlesbrough to join a busy workshop. You will service and repair a range of HGVs, perform DVSA-compliant inspections and diagnostics, and ensure accurate records and costing.

The role supports a 4 on, 4 off day-shift pattern, with competitive benefits and long-term career opportunities within an established operation.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent in HGV Service & Maintenance.
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs.
• Good knowledge of DVSA inspection and maintenance standards.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment.
• The ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A strong understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment.
• The ability to work effectively to planned maintenance schedules and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Completing MOT preparation in accordance with DVSA requirements.
• Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle defects.
• Investigating and resolving service and driver-reported faults.
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify technical issues.
• Accurately completing inspection sheets, job sheets and maintenance records.
• Recording labour time and parts used to support accurate job costing.
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to the required safety and operational standards.
• Working to planned maintenance schedules and agreed timescales.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and workshop housekeeping.
