Job summary

KAUTEC RECRUITMENT Ltd is hiring a fully qualified HGV Technician for a workshop-based role in Walthamstow. The position offers day shift hours, with a 4 on/4 off cycle (6am–6pm) on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will service, maintain and repair a mixed fleet, including tractor and trailer units, performing inspections, MOT prep, DVSA-compliant servicing, and electrical/wiring work in a positive environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV fitter (City & Guilds or NVQ) is preferred.
• IRTEC or EV qualification desirable but not essential.
• Experience with DVSA standards and MOT preparation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on a varied fleet.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and perform scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• Conduct 6 (or 8) weekly inspections and improve vehicle standards.
• Carry out electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

The role of the HGV Technician:

You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes and models, of differing ages and possibly the odd tanker. You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet and you can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment.

The type of work as an HGV Technician you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance
• MOT preparation
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
• Improvement of vehicle standards
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Requirements for this HGV Technician position:

• Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
• Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.
