Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic trained in DAF for a permanent role in South Yorkshire. The successful candidate will maintain and repair a varied fleet of heavy vehicles and ensure readiness for MOT.

You will work Monday to Friday 7:00–17:00 with a Saturday rota, with up to £60,000 DOE and 28 days' leave plus pension. NVQ3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance preferred; strong diagnostics and workshop teamwork required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent preferred.
• DAF experience or training is essential.
• Strong background in maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing the HGV and commercial vehicle fleet.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and presenting them for test.
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify and repair faults.
• Attending vehicle breakdowns as required.
• Replacing wheels and carrying out re-torquing.
• Carrying out vehicle inspections in line with Operator Licence requirements.
• Completing running repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Completing all relevant paperwork and job cards.
• Working effectively as part of a busy workshop team.
• Supporting colleagues and assisting in other areas of the business when required.

South Yorkshire | Up to £60,000 DOE | Permanent

Shift Pattern

• Monday – Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Saturday: 7:00am – 12:00pm on a rota basis

The client, a well-established and highly regarded waste management business in South Yorkshire, is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their busy workshop team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have strong DAF experience and training, together with a solid background in the maintenance, servicing and repair of heavy commercial vehicles.

The Role

As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of a varied commercial vehicle fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing the company's HGV and commercial vehicle fleet
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and presenting them for test
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify and repair faults
