Job summary

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join a Lincoln workshop, performing repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy goods vehicles, trailers and related equipment.

You will inspect vehicles, diagnose issues, maintain records, and assist with road-side repairs as needed. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / IMI in HGV required; DVSA standards knowledge and a valid UK driving license are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance.
• Ability to identify worn or faulty components per DVSA standards.
• UK driving license for relevant vehicle classes.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
• Carry out regular inspections and preventative maintenance (tyre rotations, oil changes).
• Maintain workshop inventory and keep it clean and organized.

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a HGV Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:

• Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
• Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
• Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
• Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
• Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.
• Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.

Skills and Qualifications for the HGV Technician:

• You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance.
• You will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards
• UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes
