Qualifications

• Experience in Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant roles.
• Knowledge of Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo, and Renault vehicles.
• IRTE licence qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining DPD’s fleet.
• Conducting fault diagnostics and MOT preparation.
• Performing weekly/monthly checks on HGV vehicles.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivatedHGV Workshop Technician / Mechanic to join our team of highly skilled technicians.

As the successful HGV Technician / Mechanic you will reportto the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager and be a key member of the team. Working in a time critical distribution environment, your key accountabilities will include;

• Servicing and maintaining DPD’s fleet of approximately Mercedes Benztractor units and in trailers.
• Fault Diagnosticson vehicles
• MOT Preparationfor the vehicles
• Weekly/ monthly checks of HGV vehicles
• Mechanical and Electrical repairson vehicles
• Since November over 60% of our HGV Fleet use Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO)

Qualifications

About You

As the successful candidate you will have had experience working within a similarHeavy GoodsorHeavy Plantrole, or have knowledge ofyellow goods repairs. Ideally you will be Level 3 trained inVehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time served technician.

You will have knowledge of working onMercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo and Renaultvehicles.

You must demonstrate the core values of DPD's DNA – Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability

It would be advantageous if you wereirtech licencequalified however this is not essential as we can provide further accreditation for this.

A LGV Class 1 DrivingLicence is desirable for this role but not essential.
