Job description

HGV Technician - Joining Bonus of £1,500

Biffa Waste - Barking Depot

Pay Rate: £21.44 per hour (45hrs per week). Shift Pattern - Early and lates rotating one week each, with overtime and call out available. Working Mondays to Fridays (45hrs per week).

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements. You will carry out scheduled preventive service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator licence commitments. Our fleet ranges from light commercial vans to 44t articulated specialist assets, providing ample opportunity to learn and develop your technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with achieved a Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or NVQ qualification.
• Experience as a PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic.
• Minimum of a car/van driving licence.
• HGV licence is essential.
• IRTEC qualification desirable.
