We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a professional workshop team. The role offers clear progression pathways, ongoing technical training, and regular overtime opportunities, with duties focused on keeping customers’ vehicles safe, compliant, and operational.

Key responsibilities include major and minor repairs on heavy vehicles, routine inspections, tyre changes, preventive maintenance, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• Full UK driving licence for vehicle classes operated.

Responsabilités

• Carrying out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and commercial fleet equipment.
• Performing routine inspections, servicing and preventive maintenance (PPM), including tyre changes and oil services.
• Maintaining workshop stock and a clean, safe working environment.
• Assisting with fault diagnosis and planning effective repair solutions.
• Keeping accurate maintenance and service records and completing documentation efficiently.

Overtime paid at time and 1 half, day off on your birthday, manufacturer training, clear progression pathways, Enhanced Maternity and Paternity support, 4 times salary death-in-service cover, 24hr GP access.

£20 per hour DOE, regular overtime paid at time and 1 half.

As a HGV Technician, your primary responsibility will be ensuring customers' vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational through high-quality maintenance and repair work. The successful HGV Technician will benefit from specialist BPW and LOLER training, alongside health and safety e-learning programmes designed to enhance technical knowledge and professional growth.

Duties and responsibilities

• Carrying out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and commercial fleet equipment.
• Completing routine inspections, servicing, and PPM activities, including tyre replacement and oil changes.
• Maintaining workshop stock levels and ensuring a clean, safe working environment.
• Assisting with fault diagnosis and planning effective repair solutions.
• Keeping accurate maintenance and service records.
• Providing roadside breakdown assistance when required.
• Completing documentation, warranty submissions, and associated administration accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience within commercial vehicle maintenance or repair.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• Ability to identify worn, damaged, or defective components in line with DVSA standards.
• Full UK driving licence relevant to vehicle classes operated.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
