Job description

HGV Technician - Gloucester

Location: Gloucester

Salary: £40,000 per year

Overtime: Available at time and a half

Shifts: Rotating weekly

Week 1: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Week 2: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Days: Monday - Friday

The Opportunity: A well-established commercial vehicle maintainer is looking for a skilled and qualified HGV Technician to join their team in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy, well-equipped workshop, gain access to ongoing training, and advance your career in the HGV industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose and repair running defects efficiently
  2. Carry out vehicle inspections, routine servicing, and general maintenance
  3. Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure compliance with industry standards
  4. Conduct engine and gearbox repairs/overhauls as required
  5. Complete all necessary documentation accurately
Requirements:
  1. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  2. Experience working as an HGV Technician in a fleet or dealership environment
  3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
