Dennis Eagle in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team. You will service, maintain and repair a range of heavy vehicles and specialist equipment, in our workshop and at customer sites, to keep fleets safe, compliant and operational.
You will diagnose faults, read wiring diagrams, perform planned servicing, prepare vehicles for MOT, and maintain accurate workshop records while upholding high safety and quality standards.
Hours: 45 hours per week | between 06:00 and 18:00Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £48,189.77pa DOE
We're looking for a skilled technician to join our Aftermarket team, maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles and specialist equipment that provide essential front-line services across the UK. You'll play a key role in helping customers keep their fleets safe, compliant and operational. Whether you're currently working on HGVs, buses, coaches, plant machinery or other heavy vehicles, this is an opportunity to build on your experience and develop your technical skills within a specialist vehicle environment.
As an HGV Technician, you'll carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of specialist vehicles, working both in our workshop and at customer sites. You'll help ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability.
Diagnose and repair faults on HGV chassis, refuse collection vehicles and mounted equipment
Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and complete quality checks
Complete mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, body and chassis repairs
Record completed work accurately using workshop and fleet management systems
Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues to ensure work is completed efficiently
Follow health and safety procedures and maintain excellent housekeeping standards
Continue developing your technical knowledge through product and technical training
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs, commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, plant or specialist vehicles
Well-developed diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of vehicle electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical information
A commitment to quality workmanship, safety and customer service
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and customers
Good IT skills and experience completing workshop documentation
