Job summary

XDR Partners Ltd in Birtley, Tyne and Wear, is seeking a reliable HGV Mechanic for a full-time, on-site role in our Birtley workshop. You will maintain and repair heavy vehicles, prepare for MOT, and work with diagnostic equipment to identify faults.

The ideal candidate holds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, has HGV experience, and a full driving licence. You will join a supportive team with training opportunities across brands such as Mercedes, Renault and Scania, plus company benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a formal qualification - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Heavy plant experience will also be considered.
• HGV mechanical experience is a must.
• A Class 1 (C+E) licence would be preferable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ideally have experience working on Mercedes, Renault & Scania.
• Ideally have experience working with hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general mechanical planned and corrective maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Carry out diagnostic fault identification and rectification repair.
• Assist with apprenticeship training.

This is a full-time position based in the Birtley workshop.
