Job summary

SUEZ is seeking an HGV Technician in Birmingham to maintain and repair our fleet to high safety and performance standards. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs in a collaborative workshop environment.

You will ensure DVSA and company standards compliance, complete job cards accurately, and contribute to a proactive maintenance culture with a skilled team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Positive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence.
• A Basic DBS check will form part of the recruitment process.

Job description

The Role

• As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet to the highest safety and performance standards. Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you'll carry out:


• Routine servicing, maintenance and inspections.


• Diagnostics and fault finding on HGVs and articulated vehicles.


• Mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance.


• Ensuring all vehicles remain compliant with DVSA and company standards.


• Accurate completion of job cards and maintenance records.

Our vehicles arrive pre-cleaned and emptied before entering the workshop, allowing you to spend your time doing what you do best - maintaining and repairing vehicles, not cleaning them.

What We're Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.


• Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.


• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.


• A positive attitude with excellent attention to detail.


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV driving licence.
