Job summary

Lanes Group Plc is seeking HGV Tanker Engineers to operate vacuum tankers on drainage and waste contracts. You will drive HGV class 1 or 2, complete job reports, and maintain high safety standards on site across regions.

The role runs 4 nights on, 4 nights off (6pm–6am), averaging 40.25 hours over 8 weeks. Full PPE, training, and progression opportunities are provided. A valid HGV licence with CPC and tachograph card is required.

Qualifications

  • HGV class 1 or 2 licence with CPC and tachograph card up to date.
  • Minimum 2 years HGV class 1 or 2 experience.
  • Ability to complete reports and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for HGV Class 1 or Class 2 drivers to work on a full time basis for days on our waste water contract. Driving a vacuum tanker, the work incorporates tankering various non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities across the regions. You will be provided with a phone and an app to outline the jobs that have been assigned to you by the Operations Supervisor. Due to the nature of the role, a full HGV Class 1 or Class 2 UK drivers licence with CPC and have up to date digi tachograph card., As a HGV Tanker Engineer, you will:

  • Operate HGV-mounted vacuum and tankers for drainage and waste management tasks.
  • Independently manage job sites, ensuring safe practices and high-quality work.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Accurately complete job reports and system updates.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any faults promptly.
  • Maintain high health and safety standards, including proper PPE use and regulatory compliance
Experience and qualifications required for the role:
  • HGV class 1 or class 2 driving licence
  • Valid in date CPC and up to date taco
  • Minimum 2 years class 1 or class 2 experience

Salary: £17.00 per hour Hours: 4 nights on 4 nights off, 6pm - 6am, 40.25 hours averaged over an 8 week period
