Job summary

Lanes Group Plc is seeking HGV Tanker Engineers for a full-time role on our waste water contract. You will operate vacuum tankers across sites and disposal facilities, with 4 days on and 4 days off, 6am–6pm, using a phone and app to receive jobs from the Operations Supervisor.

Applicants must have a valid HGV Class 1 or 2 licence with CPC and up-to-date tachograph card. In return, we offer training, PPE, pension, and career progression within a major UK infrastructure leader.

Job description

We are looking for HGV Class 1 or Class 2 drivers to work on a full time basis for days on our waste water contract. Driving a vacuum tanker, the work incorporates tankering various non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities across the regions. You will be provided with a phone and an app to outline the jobs that have been assigned to you by the Operations Supervisor. Due to the nature of the role, a full HGV Class 1 or Class 2 UK drivers licence with CPC and have up to date digi tachograph card. Hours: 4 days on 4 days off days- 6am - 6pm.

As a HGV Tanker Engineer, you will:

• Operate HGV-mounted vacuum and tankers for drainage and waste management tasks.
• Independently manage job sites, ensuring safe practices and high-quality work.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Accurately complete job reports and system updates.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any faults promptly.
• Maintain high health and safety standards, including proper PPE use and regulatory compliance.

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

• HGV class 1 or class 2 driving licence.
• Valid in date CPC and up to date taco.
