Job summary

Pertemps Sheffield is recruiting an HGV Removals Driver to join a well-established removals company in Sheffield. You will drive safely across the UK, load and unload belongings with care, and provide excellent customer service on every move.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely drive HGV vehicles to domestic and commercial locations across the UK.
• Load, transport and unload belongings with care and professionalism.
• Work with removals crew to complete moves safely and efficiently.
• Provide outstanding customer service throughout every move.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Comply with Health & Safety and driver regulations.
• Represent the company professionally at customers' premises.
• Occasional overnight stays may be required.

HGV Removals Driver
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £14.00 - £17.00 per hour DOE (Approx. £29,000 - £35,000 per annum)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an HGV Removals Driver to join a well-established and professional removals company based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver or a newly qualified HGV licence holder looking to start a rewarding career within the removals industry. Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive HGV vehicles to domestic and commercial removal locations across the UK.
• Load, transport and unload customers' belongings with care and professionalism.
• Work closely with the removals crew to complete moves safely and efficiently.
• Deliver outstanding customer service throughout every move.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Ensure compliance with all company procedures, Health & Safety requirements and driver regulations.
• Represent the company professionally while working at customers' homes and business premises.
• Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on customer requirements.

What We're Looking For

• HGV Category C or C+E licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Newly qualified HGV drivers are encouraged to apply - full support and training will be provided.
• Previous removals experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Physically fit and happy to undertake manual handling as part of the role.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and overnight stays.

Hours & Benefits

• £14.00 - £17.00 per hour depending on experience.
• Overtime paid after 40 hours.
• 40 hours per week, typically 07:30 - 16:30 with a one-hour lunch break.
• Working 5 days out of 7 on a Monday to Sunday rota.
• Rotas generally issued in advance, subject to operational requirements.
• Weekend working on a rotational basis.
• 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (33 days total).
• Full induction and ongoing training.
