Job summary

Serco is hiring an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver for our Lambeth team, delivering a full waste and recycling service to residents and businesses. You will work in a two-person driving crew on pre-planned routes and uphold high safety and customer service standards.

The role is full-time, 39 hours per week, with early start times and some weekend work. A valid HGV licence (Class 1/2) and CPC are required, along with physical fitness and a professional team mindset.

Salary: £40,183.48 per annum + excellent benefits

Full Time: 39 hours per week

Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 6.00am - 2.30pm, Fridays 6.00am - 1.30pm with guaranteed weekend work and Bank Holidays available.

Working alongside a professional and friendly team, you’ll deliver a full waste and recycling service to local residents and businesses. Your efforts will help maintain high standards across the community while providing excellent customer service every step of the way.

You’ll Be Entrusted To

• Complete a pre-planned route as part of a team of two drivers, collecting waste from estates and commercial properties.
• Be the public face of Serco in the community.
• Ensure that your vehicle safety checks are completed and that your truck is work ready and road safe, before setting off on your round

In our team, we all pitch in! You will alternate driving duties with your colleague, staying active and helping to get things done quickly and efficiently.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you...

• Hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Are happy to work as a driver/loader
• Are physically fit and healthy (this is a must, due to the nature of the work!)
• Are a dedicated, friendly and professional team player
• Are willing to go the extra mile on your rounds to help your team hit its targets
• Are conscientious and able to operate a electronic tablet to log your daily work.
