Job summary

Serco is hiring an HGV Refuse & Recycling Driver/Loader in the Richmond area. You will operate on a pre-planned route with a team of Loaders, collecting waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties while representing the company in the local community.

This is a full-time role based in Twickenham with a 40-hour week, shifts starting mid-afternoon (1pm/2pm), and a permanent contract. The package includes a salary of £41,629 per year plus excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence & Driver CPC.
• Be hard working, physically fit and healthy for demanding rounds.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive, customer-focused approach.
• Be a team player and willing to go the extra mile on rounds.

Responsibilities

• Set off on a pre-planned route with loaders to collect waste and recycling from homes and businesses.
• Be the public face of Serco Environmental Services in the community.
• Perform vehicle safety checks and ensure truck is clean and ready before rounds.

As a HGV Refuse & Recycling Driver/Loader in our Richmond team, you'll provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Twickenham. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse Collection staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve.

You’ll be entrusted to:

• You will set off on a pre-planned route as the driver with your team of Loaders you are working with collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties.
• You will be the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services team in the community.
• Before setting out on your rounds, you will ensure that your vehicle safety checks are completed and that your truck is clean and work ready.
