Job summary
Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV & Plant Engineer based in Stevenage to join a workshop-focused team. You will maintain, inspect, repair and test HGV vehicles and plant equipment, with occasional off-site work and participation in an on-call rota.
Key duties include MOT preparation, safety inspections, diagnostics of hydraulic and electrical systems, welding and body repairs, and ensuring accurate maintenance records. Competitive salary and benefits apply.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Experience preparing HGVs for MOT inspections and carrying out safety inspections.
- Welding, fabrication and body repair experience.
- Willingness to attend customer sites and breakdowns when required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, repair and test HGV vehicles, plant and equipment.
- Prepare vehicles for annual MOT inspections and accompany where required.
- Perform safety inspections in line with standards.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs as needed.
- Attend breakdowns and repairs at customer sites when required.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records and workshop systems.
