Job summary

Hough Green Garage is recruiting a Fleet Maintenance Fitter/HGV Mechanic for its 24/7 fleet service in Telford. You will maintain, service and repair a modern fleet of over 200 vehicles and trailers, ensuring reliability, safety and compliance.

The role offers a permanent contract with weekly pay, opportunities to gain additional driving qualifications, and a competitive hourly rate with overtime and call-out pay. PPE and uniform are provided in a busy, professional environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ, BTEC, or City and Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent apprenticeship.
• Ideally a minimum of 5 years experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicles and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned fleet maintenance, servicing and repairs.
• Complete 6-weekly inspections, pre-MOT checks, and MOT preparation/presentation.
• Diagnose faults accurately and carry out timely repairs.
• Investigate, document and report vehicle or equipment damage.
• Replace components in line with planned maintenance schedules.
• Perform inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety and legal standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, job cards and service sheets using online systems.
• Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Respond effectively to urgent or high-priority maintenance issues.

Location : Telford TF3 3BN

Shifts : Monday to Friday 08.00 : 18.00 with alternative Saturday mornings

Pay : Starting from A GBP 18.00ph (depending on shift, experience and training) + Call:out and Overtime

Contract : Permanent Weekly Pay

Due to increased workloads and the launch of new contracts, we are seeking to recruit additional Fleet Maintenance Fitters / HGV Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a varied, fast:paced role suited to individuals with a strong work ethic, a proactive can:do attitude, and the ability to work independently under pressure.

What Youll Do

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of our modern fleet of over 200 vehicles and trailers. You will play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, safety, and compliance, helping us deliver a fast, efficient, and professional service to our customers.
