Job summary

Müller Dairy in Bristol seeks skilled HGV Technicians to join the Transport Department at the Bristol Depot. You will service and repair a modern, well maintained fleet to meet legal and company standards.

The role is full-time and permanent, with a Monday–Friday 08:00–18:00 shift pattern. The package includes competitive pay with enhanced overtime and weekend premiums, plus benefits such as a company pension and health plan.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent
• Commercial experience on HGVs is essential
• Class C+E licence preferable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain the HGV fleet
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre
• Record vehicle defects and maintain accurate service records
• Repair minor accident damage
• Carry out fault diagnosis
• Prioritise safety in all tasks

Job description

We are currently looking to recruit for HGV Technicians to join our Transport Department at our BristolDepot within our Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business. This is a great opportunity for HGV Technicians looking to work for a prestigious logistics company, servicing and repairing a modern well maintained fleet of vehicles. The purpose of this role is to Repair and Maintain our HGV Fleet to comply with legal and company standards. Candidates will be responsible for actively seeking solutions to challenges and for embracing a safe and efficient operating approach to their work.

Location: Bristol Depot (BS11 0YW)

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday (0800 -1800)

Rate of Pay: £20.84 per hour - £26.69 per hour

Shift Premiums

Saturday - £22.45 per hour

Sunday - £29.69 per hour

Overtime / Bank Holiday - £29.69 per hour

Unsociable (hours worked between 1800-0400) - £22.78 per hour

HGV Technician Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to the following):

• To inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre
• To record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle
• Repair minor accident damage
• Carry out fault diagnosis
• To put safety first regarding all aspects of the role

HGV Technician Key Skills & Experience

• Qualifications required City & Guilds part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
• Commercial experience on HGV's is essential
• Class C+E licence preferable but not essential
• Works well both independently and in a team
• Manages deadlines well and understands how to prioritise a workload
