Job summary

A leading company in the food chain sector is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic. This role involves inspecting and repairing various vehicles, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess relevant licenses and qualifications while demonstrating excellent mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Required full UK Driving Licence and HGV Class C+E licence.
• Hold an industry recognised qualification, either City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Previous HGV mechanical experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, report, repair and service trailers, vehicles and factory transport.
• Conduct pre-MOT checks to DVSA/VOSA standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork for vehicle inspections.

Salary: Negotiable subject to experience along with statuary pension

About Us:

Business: Our client’s operations have a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain.

As an HGV Mechanic your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the client requirements but will include:

• To inspect, report, repair and service trailers, vehicles and factory transport.
• To inspect and conduct pre-MOT checks to DVSA/VOSA standards.
• To complete paperwork in relation to the above tasks.
• Any other ad hoc duties, as required.

Requirement and Skills

• Full UK Driving Licence – HGV Class C+E licence is essential.
• Hold an industry recognised qualification, either City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Have previous HGV mechanical experience.
• Good knowledge of H&S practices.
• Excellent mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
• Be able to work well individually and as part of a team.
