Job summary

Holt-Recruitment in Gloucester is seeking an experienced HGV Technician/Mechanic/Fitter to join a busy workshop. You will maintain a modern fleet, benefit from excellent training and long-term career prospects, and work within a supportive team.

Key requirements include City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, own tools, and a valid UK driving licence (Class 1/2 advantageous). Permanent, London-based role with strong overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Must have City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence; Class 1/2 licence advantageous.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic is essential.
• Own tools required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment and repair methods.
• Follow warranty procedures and complete all relevant documentation accurately.
• Identify and report additional vehicle defects to the Workshop Controller.

As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Diagnosing faults efficiently using the latest diagnostic equipment and repair methods.
• Following warranty procedures throughout the repair process and completing all relevant documentation accurately.
• Identifying and reporting any additional vehicle defects to the Workshop Controller to ensure the highest standard of work.

To be successful in this role as a HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter, you should have:

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter is essential.
• Own tools required.
• Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• A full UK driving licence.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous.
