Job summary

Facilities by ADF plc is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic for a hands-on, on-site role supporting film and television vehicle fleets across the UK and Europe. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and service HGVs and trailers to DVSA standards, while preparing MOTs and maintaining accurate paperwork.

The role requires post-qualification experience (2 years minimum), City & Guilds 1–3 or equivalent, IT literacy, and good communication. IRTEC registration and fleet system knowledge are beneficial.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
• City & Guilds 1,2 & 3 Certificates or equivalent with experience in HGV and trailer servicing and repairs
• IT literacy and strong communication skills
• Must have the right to work in the UK and IRTEC registration is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Vehicle inspections to DVSA and FTA standards
• Fault finding, repairs and servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
• MOT preparation to DVSA standards
• Vehicle servicing to manufacturer standards
• Completion of paperwork to ensure compliance
• Use of diagnostic equipment

About Us:

Facilities by ADF plc provides serviced vehicle hire for television and film productions in the UK and Europe, specialising in on-location support for dramas and major features. The group includes Location One (Integrated end to end shoot support) and Autotrak Portable Roadways (temporary access equipment hire) and the role would be working across all three companies to ensure an aligned approach.

HGV Mechanic Key Responsibilities:

• - Vehicle Inspections to DVSA and FTA standards
• - Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
• - MOT preparation to DVSA standards
• - Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
• - Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
• - Use of diagnostic equipment

HGV Mechanic You:

• - 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
• - Time Served mechanic or possess City & Guilds 1,2 & 3 Certificates or equivalent with experience and have a technical experience in HGV and trailer servicing and repairs
• - IT Literate
• - High level of communication
• - Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
• - Good organisational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
• - Initiative to work autonomously
• - Must have the right to work in the UK
• - IRTEC Registered
• - Knowledge of R2C Fleet Maintenance system or equivalent
