Job summary

A leading company in the food chain sector is seeking an HGV Mechanic in Cambridge. The role involves inspecting and servicing vehicles, with a focus on maintaining safety standards. Applicants should hold an HGV Class C+E licence and have relevant qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence – HGV Class C+E licence is essential.
• Hold an industry recognised qualification, either City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Have previous HGV mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, report, repair and service trailers, vehicles and factory transport.
• Conduct pre-MOT checks to DVSA/VOSA standards.
• Complete paperwork in relation to the above tasks.

Salary: Negotiable subject to experience along with statuary pension

As an HGV Mechanic your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the client requirements but will include:

• To inspect, report, repair and service trailers, vehicles and factory transport.
• To inspect and conduct pre-MOT checks to DVSA/VOSA standards.
• To complete paperwork in relation to the above tasks.
• Any other ad hoc duties, as required.

Requirement and Skills

• Full UK Driving Licence – HGV Class C+E licence is essential.
• Hold an industry recognised qualification, either City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Have previous HGV mechanical experience.
• Good knowledge of H&S practices.
• Excellent mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
• Be able to work well individually and as part of a team.
