RT12: HGV Mechanic/Technician

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £37,000 Per Annum

Overview: First Military Recruitment are looking for an experienced, commercial vehicle repair and maintenance HGV technician to join one of our renowned clients based in Milton Keynes. This is a family-owned and run company with very low staff turnover. We operate a large fleet of construction vehicles, including tippers, skip trucks, grab trucks, and low loaders.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair to keep the fleet to DVSA standards. You will be based out of our client's large 6-bay workshop in Milton Keynes, working Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm, and Saturday 7am-1pm when required (paid at an overtime rate).

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. MOT preparation and presentation
2. Vehicle inspections
3. General servicing
4. Correction/repair of vehicle defects
5. Engine and gearbox repairs & overhauls
6. Completion of all required paperwork
7. Diagnostic experience
8. Welding and fabrication

The role is mainly workshop-based with occasional breakdown/roadside diagnostic work. The successful applicant will need at least 5 years’ experience and must be a fully qualified HGV mechanic (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). A full driving license including HGV class 1/2 is required for this role.
