We have a growing fleet of artics and skip wagons, including our new HVO wagon! As a result, we are looking for a HGV Mechanic to expand our small, but skilled, workshop team, and undertake regular inspections, proactive maintenance and reactive repairs.

The role

• plan and carry out repairs/maintenance and servicing of our fleet vehicles and trailers
• co-ordinate maintenance activity and achieve timely, prioritised maintenance, repair and servicing, working in partnership with the transport management team
• investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and carry out all repairs to manufacturer’s standards
• ensure that parts, materials and tools are ordered and stocks maintained as required
• inspect tyres/wheels for damages/defects and replace or repair as required
• support the Plant Fitters with plant machinery repairs as required
  
  

What you need

• We will consider semi-skilled mechanics who want to develop their skills in HGV repair and maintenance.
• relevant qualification in HGV repair and maintenance, or compensating work experience
• skilled in the maintenance of a wide variety of vehicles, plant and machinery, including the safe use of appropriate tools and equipment
• good understanding of HGV service and maintenance requirements
• proficient in diagnosis and repairs to hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
• excellent communications skills with the ability to build good working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
• a full, clean driving licence, with valid Category C licence

The package

• Pay range £37k – £45k per annum DOE
• 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• 1 in 2 Saturdays, 7am-12pm only (paid extra)
• Weekly pay
