Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for an experienced HGV Fitter/Mechanic in Paddock Wood. You will support the general maintenance and ensure all vehicles in the fleet remain compliant and road legal. Responsibilities include routine repairs, carrying out Preventative Maintenance Inspections, and maintaining accurate service records. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in automotive mechanics, with knowledge of DVSA standards. There is a competitive salary of £35,000 per year for this permanent role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Fitter/Mechanic within the automotive trade.
• Ability to manage workload independently and efficiently.
• Knowledge of DVSA roadworthiness standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Carry out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI).
• Diagnose faults and complete timely repairs.
