Job summary

Pertemps Plymouth is recruiting experienced HGV drivers to support a range of clients across Devon and Cornwall. We have ongoing, casual and full-time assignments with flexible shift patterns including days, nights, weekends and ad-hoc work.

You will operate various Class 1 vehicle types, complete deliveries, manage multi-drop runs, secure loads and conduct daily vehicle checks while maintaining compliance with transport legislation and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicles and trailer types (refrigerated, curtain side, flatbed, tipper).
• Carry out deliveries and collections per planned schedules.
• Perform multi-drop and trunking as required by assignment.
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain records and comply with transport legislation.
• Communicate effectively with transport teams and customers.
• Deliver professional and customer-focused service at all times.

HGV Drivers

As we continue to support a range of clients across the region, we are looking to recruit experienced Class 1 (CE) Drivers for ongoing and casual assignments. Opportunities are available across a variety of shift patterns, including days, nights, weekends, ad-hoc work, and full-time hours.

The Role

• Safely operating a range of Class 1 vehicles and trailer types, including refrigerated, curtain side, flatbed, and tipper trailers.
• Completing deliveries and collections in line with planned schedules.
• Carrying out multi-drop and trunking work, depending on the assignment.
• Ensuring loads are correctly secured and transported safely.
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Maintaining accurate records and complying with all transport legislation.
• Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers.
• Delivering a professional and customer-focused service at all times.

Requirements

• A valid UK Class 1 (CE) Licence.
• A current Driver CPC qualification.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A professional and reliable approach to work.

Desirable

• Experience operating a variety of trailer types.
• ADR qualification (beneficial but not essential).
• Previous experience in multi-drop or trunking operations.
