Job summary

H. W. Martin Waste Limited currently seeks HGV Class 1 Drivers for night shifts. You will operate a wagon and drag vehicle, transport waste to tipping points, and complete required paperwork in line with legal and company standards.

We offer a permanent contract, 48-hour weeks with weekend overtime at premium rate, and a benefits package including annual leave, pension, and life assurance. Training provided and opportunities across the UK.

Qualifications

• HGV driving competence and license required.
• Driver CPC required by law and tachograph knowledge.
• Competent in reading/writing basic paperwork and English language.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate HGV Class 1 vehicle in line with tachograph laws.
• Complete pre-trip inspections and report defects promptly.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Assist with loading/unloading as required and ensure safe delivery at sites.

The Role:

We are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to drive and operate a wagon and drag HGV vehicle, collect from own sites and dispose of waste at various tipping points.

The ideal candidate will:

• Drive and operate HGV vehicle in line with tachograph laws
• Pre inspect vehicle, report any defects in a timely manner for rectification
• Complete relevant paperwork as required by the business and legislation
• Keep the vehicle clean and report any damage in line with company procedure

Key Skills and Experience:

• Ability to work under own initiative
• Full training will be given
• Positive 'can do' attitude
• HGV Driving License
• Driver CPC and Tachograph Card
• A reasonable level of competency of the English Language (speaking, reading and writing) and basic arithmetic.
• Newly qualified or experienced drivers are welcome to apply as full training will be provided
