Job summary

Driver Hire Manchester is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for night trunking work at Walton Summit near Bamber Bridge, with an immediate start. The role requires a UK Class 1 licence held for 1 year+, CPC and Tachograph cards, and a clean driving record. Night shifts run Monday to Friday starting at 7pm.

The successful drivers will earn £20.00 per hour PAYE, with weekly pay, a minimum of 8 hours paid per shift, and subsidised CPC training. Permanent roles may follow after temporary work.

Qualifications

• UK issued Class 1 driving licence held for 1 year or more.
• A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Meet Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and competent driving, observing speed limits and traffic signs.
• Daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness (lights, brakes, coolant, etc).
• Report faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• Maintain internal and external condition of the vehicle and its cleanliness.
• Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel for the day’s work.
• Maintain security of the vehicle and its contents.
• Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• Support good customer relations with excellent verbal and written communication.

Job description

We are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for night trunking work to start immediately for our clients based at Walton Summit near Bamber Bridge

£20.00 per hour

HGV Class 1 is also known as Cat C+E for those who are more recent passes.

As these positions are ASAP, we will need you to be immediately available so please don’t apply unless you are.

Work Pattern, Monday to Friday 7pm start.

To work with us as a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will need…

• A UK issued Class 1 driving Licence held for 1 year or more.
• A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Be punctual and reliable

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• To help maintain good customer relations and have Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

The successful Class 1 HGV Drivers can expect:

• Monday–Friday: £20.00 PAYE Adv Per Hour .
• Weekly Pay, paid on time every time.
• 8hr minimum guaranteed pay per shift
• Subsidised ongoing CPC training.
