Job summary

DPD UK is looking for a reliable HGV Driver to join our Preston team, driving a modern fleet and keeping the country moving. You’ll be part of a large, tech-driven logistics operation with a people-first culture.

The role offers a permanent 40-hour week, Sunday to Thursday, with a pay rate of £16.35 per hour plus a night rate premium of £2.72 and enhanced overtime. You’ll help move bulk collections between sites while prioritising safety and professional service.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (CE) Licence with CPC and Tachograph card.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
• Excellent knowledge of UK roads and a safety-first mindset.
• Able to work Sundays to Thursdays and meet shifting patterns.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries focusing on HGV routes.
• Manage trailer swaps and live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to plan routes and remain compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers nationwide.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritize safe driving.
