Job summary

DPD Darlington is looking for a dependable HGV Driver to join our national transport team. You’ll operate a modern fleet, execute nationwide collections and deliveries, and keep the network moving with accurate loading, unloading, and route management.

You’ll hold a valid UK Class 1 licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, bring at least 6 months of Class 1 experience, and show a safety-first mindset. We offer a competitive hourly rate (£16.35 base, +£2.72 night premium) and perks including

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a safety-first mindset.
• Resourceful problem-solver who can work under pressure and hit deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.
