Full-time, Permanent | Up to £16.00 per hour + overtime

We're working with a well-established, family‑run organisation that is looking to welcome a new team member to its Reading branch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road, meeting customers, and working with a wide variety of machinery. Previous experience in an operator or machinery‑based role is ideal, but full training will be provided.

About the Role

This position sits within a busy Hire Department, where every day offers something different. You'll be responsible for delivering hire machinery to customers across the South, ensuring safe delivery, clear handovers, and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, confident handovers, including basic training on safe equipment use.
  • Complete all delivery paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a professional and customer‑focused approach at all times.
  • Remain calm under pressure during seasonal peaks and a fast‑paced environment.
Hours of Work

Standard hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, but flexibility is essential as many customers require early deliveries. Any additional hours worked will be paid as overtime.

What We're Looking For
  • Full UK driving licence and a clean Class 2 (18t) licence with a valid CPC card.
  • Understanding of driving hours regulations and tachograph use.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Confident communicator with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Experience with groundcare, agricultural, or similar machinery is highly beneficial.
  • Mechanical aptitude an advantage. A forklift licence is useful, but training can be provided.
Benefits Package
  • Competitive salary + overtime
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Company pension
  • Life assurance
  • 23 days' annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with length of service)
  • Additional day off on your birthday (after qualifying period)
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Access to a wide range of retail and leisure discounts
  • Employee Assistance Programme (wellbeing, financial, legal & counselling support)
  • Enhanced sick pay (based on service)
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme
  • Free mortgage and home‑buying advice
  • Regular social events
  • Extensive training and development opportunities
