Job summary

FCC Environment is hiring in Penrith for a driver/loader role focused on waste collection and vehicle operation. You will drive refuse/recycling vehicles up to 26T, complete daily checks, and support depot duties within a safety-conscious team environment.

The role requires a Cat C or 7.5T licence, 35 hours CPC, and proven ability to lead a small crew while delivering excellent customer service. Local knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Cat C or 7.5T licence is required.
• Completed 35 hours of Driver CPC.
• Ability to communicate clearly and lead a small team.
• Strong focus on safety, accuracy and customer service.
• Understanding of safe working practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drive refuse/recycling vehicles (up to 26T) and complete daily vehicle checks.
• Collect waste and recycling as part of a crew.
• Lead loaders at tipping points and ensure Health & Safety compliance.
• Manage paperwork and assist with collection reports and incidents.
• Support depot cleaning and general duties when required.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Work safely and follow all procedures and instructions
• Use correct PPE and equipment, reporting hazards or unsafe conditions
• Secure unattended vehicles/equipment and support energy-efficient practices
• Drive refuse/recycling vehicles (up to 26T) and complete daily vehicle checks
• Collect waste and recycling as part of a crew
• Lead loaders at tipping points and ensure Health & Safety compliance
• Manage paperwork and assist with collection reports and incidents
• Support depot cleaning and general duties when required

What Are We Looking For?

Experience & Competencies

• Valid Cat C or 7.5T licence and digital tachograph card
• Completed 35 hours of Driver CPC
• Ability to communicate clearly and lead a small team
• Strong focus on safety, accuracy and customer service
• Understanding of safe working practices and compliance
