Job summary

Driver Hire Southend & Basildon is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Labourer for a busy scaffolding company. The role combines driving HGV Class 1/2 with on-site labouring and assisting the scaffolding team.

Candidates must hold a valid HGV licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph, CSCS and Labourer's card. Physical fitness and reliability are essential; duties include loading, unloading, site checks, and supporting on-site operations.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph.
• Labourer's card is essential.
• CSCS card is required.
• Previous experience in scaffolding, construction or a similar environment is advantageous.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles to and from construction sites
• Deliver and collect scaffolding equipment and materials
• Load and unload the vehicle safely
• Assist scaffolders with general labouring duties
• Handle and move scaffolding materials on site
• Carry out vehicle checks and relevant paperwork
• Follow all site health and safety procedures
• Support the team with other general duties as required
