Job summary

The Dash Group’s Dash Logistix Exeter is seeking newly qualified HGV drivers (Class 1 and Class 2) to join our busy pallet network operation. If you’ve recently earned your Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence, this role offers practical on-the-job coaching and real-world experience behind the wheel.

You’ll operate Class 1 or 2 vehicles, complete pallet deliveries, and follow driver hours rules while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Strong understanding of driver hours regulations and road safety.
• Good time management and reliability.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• All staff must pass a basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 or Class 2 HGV vehicles as directed and in line with your licence entitlement.
• Complete collections and deliveries of palletised freight safely, efficiently and professionally.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported in accordance with company and legal requirements.
• Use handheld technology to scan consignments and capture delivery information.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and electronic records.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding any delays, issues or route changes.
• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with customers and suppliers.
• Adhere to drivers' hours regulations, tachograph requirements and company transport procedures.
• Keep vehicles clean, presentable and fuelled ready for operation.
• Participate in ongoing training, mentoring and development activities.
