A leading company in the logistics sector seeks a dedicated transport operator to manage the loading, transportation, and maintenance of vehicles. Responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of goods and compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety standards.
o Receives documents, materials, and oral instructions from supervisor or expedition planner.
o Checks documents for the correctness of required data for the drive.
o Checks documents for customer ambiguities and reports anomalies to the expedition planner or manager.
o Submits documents and materials (bills, return forms, trip reports, vehicle registration, etc.) to the expedition planner or manager.
Transport:
o Loads the truck or supervises loading according to data mentioned in the documents, and/or supervises warehouse staff during loading.
o Checks cargo packing for quality and reports abnormalities to the supervisor.
o Transports goods by truck, combination, or trailer, considering truck properties (payload, weight, etc.) and local traffic conditions.
o Delivers goods within specified times to domestic and international customers.
o Unloads the truck or supervises unloading at designated locations, possibly using a forklift, and considers specific customer requirements.
o Handles returns from customers and other business sites.
o Unloads raw materials, packaging, pallets, containers, and returns to appropriate locations.
Maintenance:
o Ensures vehicle availability by planning regular maintenance and reporting serious issues.
o Checks engine operation and truck condition (oil levels, lights, etc.).
o Performs daily cleaning, maintenance, and fuel consumption checks, and ensures trucks are ready for loading and are empty when required.
o Detects and repairs minor faults; arranges repairs with the garage through the supervisor if necessary.
Safety and Regulations:
o Complies with all safety and traffic regulations to ensure safety of goods, traffic, and personnel.
o Maintains and files trip reports (fuel, delivery times, visits, equipment damage, etc.).
o Files and updates tachograph discs or other regulatory equipment as per regulations, including importing digital tachograph data.
