Job description

The Opportunity: HGV Driver Category C+E

Contract: Permanent

Location: Cannock

The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. If you don’t feel like you meet all of the role criteria outlined below, please don’t let that discourage you from applying.

The Impact you will have:

• Deliver high standards of service delivery to Briggs customers.
• Follow transport plan as provided by the transport planning team – Microlise / Ortec.
• Work out of hours and overnight stays, including working from other Briggs locations when required.
• Adhere to all transport legislation – current and future.
• Report vehicle defects daily using the mobile compliance application – (Convey).
• Maintain accurate records and use of Tachograph.
• Obtain signed POD / POC using Smart POD application and/or transport documents.
• Self-load the vehicle using drive-on / drive-off equipment.
• Secure the load with ratchet straps, chains, etc., to ensure safe transportation.
• Check that the equipment to be loaded matches transport documentation / mobile work device, and report discrepancies.
• Identify damaged goods or missing items during delivery or collection, and record details accordingly.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace within the vehicle cab and trailer.
• Report all incidents, ensuring compliance with Briggs and legislative policies.
• Contact customers prior to arrival via mobile communications.
• Perform other duties within your skill set as required.

What will help you to excel in this role:

• A Class C+E driving license & Driver CPC training.
• Extensive experience in a similar role.
• Counterbalance FLT B1 certification.
• Counterbalance FLT B2, B3 certifications.
• Experience in loading/unloading plant, FLTs, or aerial access equipment (preferred).
