Job summary

Severn Waste Services is seeking a full-time HGV Driver (C+E) based in Herefordshire to operate hook lift vehicles across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. This role involves daily safety checks, secure loading, and delivering reliable service in line with safety and environmental standards.

The position runs five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday) with a strong emphasis on safety, customer service, and teamwork. Comprehensive training and career progression are available within FCC Environment.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E driving licence (clean licence preferred).
• Experience as an HGV driver; hook lift experience desirable, but training can be provided.
• Knowledge of the local area is advantageous.
• A flexible, reliable, and safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Driving HGV hook lift vehicles to service FCC sites and third-party waste facilities.
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections, safety checks, and defect reporting.
• Ensuring loads are secured safely and in line with company procedures.
• Complying with transport legislation and maintaining accurate driver records.
• Wearing issued PPE/uniform and maintaining high safety standards.
• Providing a polite and professional service to colleagues, customers, and the public.
• Supporting additional operational duties as required.
